Two Individuals Accused for Prison Murder of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins
Two men have been formally charged with murder after the jailhouse death of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.
Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 stand indicted for homicide and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to investigating officers.
Watkins, 48 years old, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after admitting a string of sex offences which included the effort to sexually assault an infant.
Watkins was taken into custody following a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were taken as evidence.
